BGCF has successfully run ‘Expo Friends’, a promotional group of foreigners whose goal has been to promote the World EXPO 2030 Busan over the past year.
Expo Friends, consisting of 215 foreign residents in Busan from 46 countries, were selected to promote Busan to the world, as the city to host the World EXPO.
재단은 2030 부산세계박람회 유치 홍보 외국인 홍보단 '엑스포 프렌즈'를 1년여간 성공적으로 운영하였다.
총 46개국 215명의 국내 거주 외국인으로 구성된 엑스포 프렌즈는 세계박람회 유치 도시로써 부산의 우수함을 전 세계에 알리기 위해 선발되었다.
Expo Friends have actively promoted the 2030 World Expo in Busan along with the self-produced contents about the city through various social media platforms for 9 months, from this March to November.
Expo Friends spread Busan’s aspiration for the world Expo with appearances on TV programs, the Expo Song ‘Keep Going’, and participation in the making of a promotional video for the World EXPO 2030. Coming face to face with Busan citizens at local festivals, including the Global Gathering, Busan Sea Festival, BiKi Festival, and others, Expo Friends were actively involved in off-line promotion. As part of the off-line promotion, Expo Friends have carried out a puzzle performance with President Yoon Suk Yeol and first lady Kim Keon Hee, at the World EXPO 2030 Busan promotion booth for World Youth Day on September 17
엑스포 프렌즈는 올 3월부터 11월까지 9개월 간 2030 세계박람회 부산 유치 및 부산에 대한 콘텐츠를 직접 제작하여 각종 소셜미디어를 통해 적극적인 홍보활동을 펼쳤다.
엑스포 프렌즈는 방송 출연 및 엑스포 송 ‘Keep Going’과 2030 부산세계박람회 유치 홍보 영상 제작 참여 등으로 엑스포 유치 열기를 확산시켰다. 부산시 내 부산세계시민축제, 부산바다축제, 부산국제어린이청소년영화제 등 지역 축제에서 부산시민을 직접 마주하며 활발한 오프라인 홍보 활동을 펼쳤다. 오프라인 홍보 활동의 일환으로 9월 17일 청년의 날 연계 2030 부산세계박람회 홍보 부스에서 윤석열 대통령과 김건희 여사와 함께 유치 기원 퍼즐 퍼포먼스를 진행한 바 있다.
“The World EXPO 2030 Busan is a chance to let the world know about South Korea,” said Jasurbeck from Uzbekistan, “and it has been with pride that I tell others to work together for a chance, even though it may take years,” about the Expo Friends. “I had no idea about what to expect when I was selected as a member of Expo Friends at the beginning,” said Waqas from Pakistan, “and the Expo Friends have become my second family at the end.” “It was such a fun and pleasant experience to learn a lot to promote the World EXPO 2030 Busan,” he added.
우즈베키스탄 출신 자수르벡은 엑스포 프렌즈 활동에 대해 “2030 부산세계박람회는 전세계로 대한민국을 한 번 더 힘차게 알려주는 기회”라며 “엑스포 프렌즈 활동으로 이런 기회가 얻도록 함께 노력하는 것이 몇 년이 지난 다음에도 제가 많은 사람들한테 자랑할 수 있는 활동이 되었다”고 전했다. 이어 엑스포 프렌즈로 2년 동안 활동한 파키스탄 출신 와카스는 “처음 엑스포 프렌즈로 선발되었을 땐 무엇을 기대해야 할지 전혀 몰랐지만, 활동이 끝날 때 쯤엔 엑스포 프렌즈는 제 두 번째 가족이 되어 있었습니다”라며 “2030 세계박람회 유치를 위해 부산을 홍보하는 여정은 정말 기쁘고 즐거운 배움의 경험이었습니다”고 전했다.
The disbanding ceremony is planned to be held on December 8 to appreciate all the tremendous efforts of Expo Friends for the World EXPO 2030 Busan.
엑스포 유치를 위해 숨 가쁘게 달려온 프렌즈들의 노고를 치하하기 위해 12월 8일 해단식을 가질 예정이다.
