2020 부산유엔위크

Busan Foundation for International Cooperation (BFIC), in conjunction with Busan Metropolitan City, carried out 2020 UN Weeks in Busan. ‘UN Weeks in Busan’, from UN Day (Oct. 24) to Turn Toward Busan (Nov. 11), is a commemoration ceremony in acknowledgement of the war veterans who fought for freedom in the Korean War in the first week, and for those fallen heroes whose sacrifices were devoted to peace in the second week.

부산국제교류재단은 부산시와 2020 부산유엔위크를 추진했다. ‘부산UN위크’는 유엔의 날(10.24)과 턴투워드 부산(11.11)을 시작과 끝으로 한 주는 감사주간으로 한국전에 참여하여 자유 수호에 헌신한 참전용사께 감사의 뜻을 전달하며, 한 주는 추모주간으로 평화를 위해 목숨을 바친 전몰 용사들의 희생정신을 기리고 추모하는 행사다.

The 75th UN Day Ceremony

Starting from the entry of the flags of the 11 interred nations, the UN Ceremony was filled with the Pledge of Allegiance, a flower offering, a firing squad, silent prayer, a commemoration performance, and more. The commemoration performance for the fallen heroes of the United Nations was performed by Busan Metropolitan Chorus. Roll-Call Plaques, with the 2,309 names inscribed in the UN Memorial Cemetery in Korea, were produced and set up by Busan Ilbo. They were handed over to the ambassadors from 10 countries in commemoration of the UN veterans and their sacrifice in the Korea War; strengthening friendly and cooperative relations.

제75회 UN의날 기념식 

UN의 날 기념식은 11개국 안장국 국기 입장을 시작으로 국민의례, 기념사, 헌화, 조총 및 묵념, 추모 공연 등으로 진행되었고, UN군 전몰장병들을 위한 ‘추모공연’은 부산시립합창단의 합창공연으로 꾸며졌다. 부대행사로는 부산일보 주관으로 한국전쟁에 희생한 유엔군 참전용사를 추모하기 위하여 현재 유엔기념공원에 안장된 2,309기의 이름이 새겨진 롤콜(Roll-Call)패를 제작하여 10개국 대사들에게 전달하고 우호와 협력을 다졌다.

2020 World Peace Forum

On October 29, World Peace Forum was held at the Westin Chosun Hotel, in Haeundae, with the slogan, ’All Together as a City of Peace’. The forum was broadcasted live on YouTube. A keynote speech was presented by Ban Ki-Moon, the former secretary-general of the UN, with the theme, ‘Post COVID Era, the Role of Sustainable Development Goals and Peace.’ The speech presented the direction of the SDGs of local governments in the post-COVID19 era, as well as the declaration of practical tasks for the sustainable development in many fields. Fields such as peace, economy, and climate change, were identifed as goals for Busan Metropolitan City to work on as a local government. Enterprises and organizations in Busan demonstrated their will to engage in sustainable business administration by the declaration of joining UN Global Compact. Busan Metropolitan City has also constantly encouraged public institutions and investment agencies to raise awareness and join UN Global Compact. Busan Metropolitan City and BFIC will keep making exertions for Busan to develop into a city contributing to economic growth, in line with the core values of the United Nations.

2020 세계평화포럼 

‘모두가 함께하는 평화도시’ 라는 슬로건 으로 ‘세계평화포럼(World Peace Forum)’이 10월 29일 해운대 웨스틴조선호텔에서 열렸다. 포럼은 유튜브 온라인 생중계를 병행 진행하였다. 반기문 제8대 유엔 사무총장이 ‘포스트 코로나 시대, 지속가능 발전 목표와 평화’ 를 주제로 기조연설을 하였다. 이번 강연에서 코로나 이후 지방정부가 나아가야 할 지속가능발전목표의 방향성을 제시하였으며, 부산시가 지방정부로서 평화, 경제, 기후변화 등 다양한 분야에서의 지속가능 발전을 위한 실천과제의 선언도 진행하였다. 부산 기업·기관들은 ‘유엔 글로벌 콤팩트(UN Global Compact)’ 가입 선언 등 지속가능경영 동참 의지를 선포하였고, 부산시는 지속적으로 부산시 공공기관 및 출자출연기관의 관심과 유엔글로벌콤팩트 가입을 독려하였다. 부산시가 유엔의 핵심가치를 담은 경제발전에 기여하는 도시로 성장하는데 기여하기 위해 앞으로도 부산시와 재단은 함께 힘쓸 것이다.
