BGCF is putting efforts into attracting outstanding international students. Carrying out many kinds of international student support programs in cooperation with Busan metropolitan city, BGCF is working on helping their settlement and cultivating Busan-friendly human resources.
재단은 글로벌 우수 인재 유치를 위한 많은 공을 들이고 있다. 부산에서 유학하는 외국인 유학생을 대상으로 부산시와 함께 매년 다양한 유학생 지원사업을 수행하며 유학생들의 안정적 지역 정착과 부산 친화적 인재 양성을 도모한다.
The mostly loved program among them is ‘the scholarship program for outstanding international students in Busan.’ BGCF selects ‘outstanding international students every spring’. The group included 16 students from 8 colleges, hailing from 12 countries, in April this year. They are to participate in activities to develop the local community such as social contribution programs, events of BGCF and Busan city, for one year. A scholarship is given to the students in proportion to their performance; up to 2 million KRW per person per year, to provide them with a quality education, and furthermore encouraging their sense of belonging and independence as a citizen of Busan.
이중 가장 많은 사랑을 받고 있는 사업은 바로 ‘부산 우수 외국인 장학생’ 프로그램이다. 재단은 매년 봄 ‘부산 우수 외국인 장학생’을 선발하는데 올해도 지난 4월, 12개국 8개 대학 출신 16명의 우수 장학생을 선발했다. 이들은 1년 간 부산 내 사회공헌 활동, 재단 및 부산시정 행사 등 지역사회 발전을 위한 활동에 참여한다. 장학생 활동 실적에 비례하여 장학금이 지급되는데, 이는 1인 연간 최대 200만원을 제공하여 양질의 교육 여건과 환경을 제공하고 나아가 부산시의 구성원으로서 소속감과 자립심을 고취시킨다.
BGCF is also running support programs for employment or start-up opportunities for international students, to guarantee the outstanding students a stable environment for settlement. Students are selected to take part in an ‘Internship program for international students in Busan’ every summer vacation. This program is aimed at strengthening their employment potential by helping them learn Korean business etiquette and providing them with real job experience at public and private companies in Busan before they enter the workforce.
In cooperation with FLY ASIA 2023, held at BEXCO on October 7th, the biggest start-up fair in Asia, information about start-up opportunities was provided to international students and residents in Busan. Speeches about start-ups, networking, and accompanied events were provided in the hope of strengthening their competency and contributing to establishing new growth in Busan.
또한 재단은 외국인 유학생 취·창업 지원사업도 운영하여 우수 인재의 안정적 정착 여건 역시 보장하고 있다. 매년 여름방학 기간 동안 ‘부산 외국인 유학생 인턴십 프로그램’에 참여할 유학생을 선발하는데, 부산 내 공공기관, 일반 기업에 배치되어 사회 진출 전 한국의 비즈니스 예절 및 실무 경험의 기회를 제공해 유학생의 취업 역량을 강화시킨다.
특히 10월 7일 벡스코에서 진행된 아시아 최대 규모 창업 박람회 FLY ASIA 2023과 협업하여 부산에 거주중인 외국인 유학생 및 주민의 창업 정보 제공, 역량 강화를 위해 창업 관련 강연, 네트워크 및 부대 행사를 운영하여 부산의 글로벌 신성장 동력 구축에도 힘쓰고 있다.
Meanwhile, the BGCF cooperated with Busan City in the 'Regional Specialized Visa Pilot Project', a public contest project of the Ministry of Justice this year, and after winning the contest, held a 'Regional Specialized Visa Briefing Session' and a 'Customized Job Fair' to address the aging problem faced by Busan. It is playing a leading role in attracting and managing global talent, including preparing for population decline issues.
In addition, by operating the Busan International Student Community Representative Meeting, Busan International Student Support Center’s (BISSC) SNS channels, and communication channels, we are expanding opportunities for exchanges between domestic and foreign students, and providing various information related to support for international students in Busan.

한편, 재단은 올해 법무부 공모 사업인 ‘지역특화형비자 시범사업’에 부산시와 함께 협력하여 공모에 당선된 이후 ‘지역특화형비자 설명회’ 및 ‘맞춤형 취업박람회’를 개최하여 부산이 안고 있는 고령화 문제와 인구감소 문제에도 대비하는 등 글로벌 우수인재 유치 및 관리에 있어서 선도적인 역할을 수행하고 있다.
이외에도 부산 외국인 유학생 커뮤니티 대표자 회의, 부산시유학생지원센터(BISSC) SNS, 소통채널을 운영하여 내외국인 간, 외국인 유학생 간 교류 기회 확대 및 부산 유학생 지원과 관련한 다양한 정보도 제공하고 있다.
